A wonderful Awards Evening was celebrated at the school on September 15th. Mr. McHale opened the evening by welcoming everyone to the celebration. Ms. Fleming welcomed students to the stage to receive their awards. It was heartening to see so many students, parents, grandparents and staff come together to celebrate young people from the St. Finian's College Community.
An array of awards were presented on the evening including individual awards for academic achievement. One hundred and seventy seven awards were presented across nineteen categories. Musical interludes punctuated the evening. Chloe Cahill treated us to a beautiful performance of 'Caledonia'. She was accompanied on keyboard by Seán McDonnell. Later on in the evening, sisters Anna and Aoife Dunleavy got us all foot-tapping by playing a lively set of reels on their banjos.
Overall, Awards Evening 2026 was a wonderful celebration of the hard work, dedication and achievements of our students. It was a proud occasion for all involved and left us feeling inspired for the year ahead. Well done to all those who received awards.
